Potpourri Group innovates their way into Littleton

Innovation is the key for Potpourri Group’s new distribution center. PGI was rapidly outgrowing their space in Northbridge. The company’s CEO, Jonathan Fleischmann, was determined to remain in Massachusetts, rather than move to where labor and real estate are cheaper. The new warehouse in Littleton maximizes space and technology to provide the best solution.

Potpourri Group looked to Boston industrial Consulting to design the building’s material handling system, storage system and configure the proper WMS processes; Invata Intralogistics will provide the equipment and software. The project’s architect, James Mullarkey, said “There’s really no wasted cubic volume.” The Littleton warehouse can house three levels of conveyor systems on a rack supported mezzanine. Once fully constructed, it will nearly double the size of the 450,000sf warehouse, without tearing down walls or finding another site.

Potpourri Group’s employment will continue to expand over the next five years, and their hope is that the building will one-day process 120,000 orders a day. With their new warehouse opening in the spring, it seems entirely attainable.
